Safety instructions

DANGER!
Danger to life due to lightning strike!
Lightning strikes can be life-threatening.

➜ In the event of an imminent thunderstorm, stop working outdoors immediately and only resume work after a period of at least one hour after the thunderstorm has passed.
➜ During a thunderstorm, leave the working area of the machine as far away as possible, i.e. at a distance of at least 100 metres, and move people to safety.

DANGER!
Danger to life due to high voltage!
Flashover from power lines to high machine parts can be life-threatening.

➜ Never work in the immediate vicinity of power lines.
➜ When setting up the machine, keep a safe distance of at least 5 m from local power lines.
➜ Before carrying out any work in the immediate vicinity of power lines, have the power supply switched off by the local power supplier and obtain a written work permit from them.
➜ Always proceed with extreme caution when working in the vicinity of power lines.

WARNING!
Risk of injury due to improper installation and commissioning!
Improper installation and commissioning can lead to serious injuries.

➜ Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by trained personnel authorised by the operator.
➜ Before carrying out any work, ensure that the safety devices are correctly installed and functioning properly.
➜ Do not put safety devices out of operation.
➜ Always keep the work area tidy! Materials not intended for processing that are lying around as well as objects and tools that are not required are sources of accidents.

WARNING!
Fire hazard and risk of burns due to high heat development during automatic active regeneration!
During automatic active regeneration, exhaust gas temperatures of up to 600 °C are generated. These high temperatures can lead to severe burns and damage to property.

➜ Park the machine in an open area, on solid, non-flammable ground and at a minimum distance of 1 m from flammable objects.
➜ Do not park the machine on dry meadows or harvested grain fields.
➜ The exhaust tailpipe (on the right-hand side of the engine compartment roof) must be at least 1 m away from flammable objects.
➜ Do not leave the workplace until the machine has come to a standstill.

WARNING!
Danger to life due to the machine tipping over or rolling away!
If the machine is not stable, e.g. on soft floors, it can tip over or roll away and cause serious personal injury and damage to property.

➜ Before installation and commissioning, ensure that the machine is standing securely on a level, firm surface.
➜ Ensure a firm base and stable, load-bearing ground, especially when using the machine on landfills and in forests.
➜ Always secure the machine against rolling away using the wheel chocks and the parking brake.

WARNING!
Risk of injury from moving parts!
Moving parts can cause serious injuries.

➜ Before starting work, cordon off the danger zone on all sides to prevent access and mark it clearly.
➜ Do not remain in the danger zone when the machine is running.
➜ Do not put safety devices out of operation.
➜ Before working on danger zones, wait until the machine parts have come to a standstill.

WARNING!
Fire hazard due to self-ignition of material!
Material can ignite spontaneously at high outside temperatures as a result of biological decomposition processes.

➜ Always keep fire extinguishers in good working order. Observe test intervals.
➜ Regularly instruct personnel in the use of fire extinguishers, extinguishing agents and extinguishing equipment.
➜ Always empty the machine before long breaks and at the end of work and carefully remove material residues from the machine.
➜ Do not smoke in the danger zone or in the surrounding area. Refrain from handling fire and ignition sources of any kind.
➜ In the event of fire, stop all work immediately, alert the fire brigade and leave the danger zone until the all-clear has been given.

WARNING!
Risk of injury for unauthorised persons!
Unauthorised persons are not aware of the dangers of the machine and can seriously injure themselves and others.

➜ Cordon off the danger zone to prevent unauthorised persons from entering.
➜ Stop working on and with the machine as long as unauthorised persons are in the danger zone.
➜ If in doubt, speak to the persons concerned and direct them away from the danger zone of the machine.
➜ Constantly monitor the danger zone during work.

WARNING!
Danger to life due to strong magnetic fields!
Strong permanent magnets installed in the machine can put people with pacemakers or metallic implants in life-threatening situations. Ferrous metal objects can be attracted by the magnetic field with great force, fly around and seriously injure people in the vicinity. Electrical and electronic devices in the magnetic field can go into uncontrollable states and injure people.

➜ Persons with pacemakers or implants must not enter the work area under any circumstances.
➜ Keep ferrous metal objects, tools, work equipment and aids away from the work area.
➜ Do not bring any electrical or electronic devices into the work area.
➜ Keep objects sensitive to magnetic fields such as storage media, digital watches, magnetic strip cards or chip cards away from the work area.

CAUTION!
Damage to health due to unhealthy posture!
Lifting heavy components incorrectly and adopting an unnatural posture when working can cause health problems.

➜ Always use several people to lift heavy components.
➜ Always squat, not stoop, when working on low components.
➜ Use knee protection when kneeling and seat cushions when sitting.
➜ When working on high components, work in an upright, straight posture.
➜ Use technically sound tools that are suitable for the safe execution of the work.

WARNING!
Risk of crushing on closely positioned components!
Fingers and hands can be crushed when installing components due to the compact design.

➜ Take particular care when working on components that are close together.
➜ Wear sturdy protective gloves when working.
